About The Club

The Club, a registered none-profit organization, was formed back in 1973 under its original name "The Halton Cross Country Ski Club" providing an opportunity for skiers to meet one another, to share experiences, and ski in small groups rather than alone. The club still caters to skiers, as well as to other outdoor sports enthusiasts of all abilities (novices to experienced). Our membership is comprised of families and individuals of all ages and abilities.

The Club is now called "The Halton Outdoor Club" and is officially dedicated to promote year-round outdoor activities such as cross country skiing, hiking, cycling and canoeing/kayaking, thereby providing its members with the opportunity of participation and training in these sports. As far as skiing is concerned, we have several nationally certified ski instructors. Ski Lessons are arranged early in the season to encourage beginners to learn the basics. The club is a registered member of the Southern Ontario Division of the Canadian Ski Association. Our Instructors are certified by the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (C.A.N.S.I)

During the year the Club organizes two Information Nights, one in November for Winter Activities and one in May for Fair Weather Activities such as hiking, cycling and canoeing/kayaking. A Club Newsletter is published five times a year to inform members of current and past events.
