Enjoy Cross Country Skiing

with the Halton Outdoor Club

Luxury coaches take us to snow country for day, weekend, or even longer outings. We run day trips to a variety of ski resorts within two hours of Burlington. Trips run on most Saturdays and Sundays from early December through to the end of March. A typical day trip begins in Burlington at a central meeting place. We also stop at Oakville to pick up members. Once you load your equipment onto the bus, you can catch some quiet time or chat with friends while the bus takes you safely and comfortably to ski country. We usually pay less for trail fees as a group. Ski resorts provide well- groomed, track-set trails and a choice of short, easy or long and challenging routes. Almost all resorts provide rental ski and snow shoe packages. You will always find a companion amongst your fellow travelers with whom to ski.

Ski vacations: We also offer long weekend trips, trips of four to five days, and ski vacations of one to two weeks. Destinations have included Ottawa and Gatineau, Stowe in Vermont, Lake Placid in New York, Sault Ste. Marie, North Bay, and the Haliburton Highlands. Recently our longer trips have been to Silver Star in British Columbia, Canmore Alberta, the Yukon, Royal Gorge in California and the Dolomites in Northern Italy--all at very affordable rates.

Ski Lessons: We have several well-trained and experienced ski instructors who teach all levels of Nordic Skiing. Our lessons are held at the beginning of the ski season in conjunction with a day bus trip.

Snow Shoeing: Snow shoeing is available at most of the areas where we ski, usually on trails specifically groomed for this sport. Several guided snow shoe hikes are scheduled in conjunction with the skiing day trips.
